Hello all, it's been quite a while since I made a post (like, over a year!), and I apologize for that. Amazingly, the channel has survived, and is celebrating 7 years on You Tube! Can you believe it? It all started with David Janssen in "Covert Action" and went from there. While I have lost movies, taken some down, and had some completed wiped out from the channel for no apparent reason (see the latest "Banned From The Channel" upload for more on that), The Lost Movie Studio has persevered through all of this, and gained over 8,000 subscribers and a shittonimus of total views. I owe it all to you guys and gals, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Of course, what would a Lost Movie Studio blog post be without some info about the latest uploads and the movies coming soon to the channel? Without further ado, here's the lowdown:

Earlier this week I uploaded the first peplum movie I ever saw, "Giants of Rome," featuring Richard Harrison as Claudius Marcellus, a Roman solider in the service of then-General Julius Caesar. Caesar is trying to invade Druid territory on his way to conquering Rome, but the Druids are armed with some sort of "super-weapon" that "rains fire down from the sky." What's Claudius to do except assemble three of his best buds, each with a unique weapons specialty, and head out on a secret mission to destroy the weapon in three days. On the fourth day, Caesar will march through that pass and assume the weapon is destroyed...or HE will be destroyed! This classic example of Italy's then-popular peplum genre was directed by none other than Anthony Dawson, and features an excellent English dub that still holds up today. It's also packed with action and twists and moves really fast, so you won't get bored easily! If you like peplum and Harrison (and hey, who doesn't), then tune to the channel and watch this one!

Also uploaded this week was the satirical spaghetti western "The Bang Bang Kid," featuring the super-sexy Sandra Milo, Guy Madison, and Tom Bosley (Amos on "Murder, She Wrote" and Father Dowling of the "Father Dowling Mysteries") as an eccentric inventor who creates a robot that he believes he can turn into a bulletproof sheriff, which will solve a small frontier town's bandit problem for good! This film even has a dry, sarcastic narrator to open the proceedings, and his delivery makes things all the more satirical, as Sandra lights things up every time she struts into frame and Bosley hams it up as the inventor. It's also worth noting that Riccardo Garrone, writer/director Sergio Garrone's multi-talented brother, plays a role in this, and yes, he delivers the goods just as he always does. This movie has gotten a lot of views and thumbs-up since it's premiere on the channel, so I must have done something right! My own aunt remembers watching this movie with my dear departed grandmother when they aired it on TV as an afternoon western matinee back in the late 70's, so I'm sure it's brought back a lot of memories for a lot of good folks. Don't miss it!

ALSO uploaded to the channel this week (boy, I've been busy, haven't I?) is the Italian crime drama "Your Honor," which features Chris Avram as a loner/drifter sort-of guy who gets selected by a secretive organization to eliminate a teacher (and several other targets) because they are obstacles to the organization's overall goals. Avram initially refuses, but finds that the organization knows everything about him, including his relationship with a soft-hearted hooker that he has tried to keep on the down-low for a while. Avram accepts the job, even though the organization films every move he makes and transmits it back to their secret HQ (one of the first times I've seen that done in an Italian film), and eventually builds a relationship with a female agent, played by Lea Landers. Avram tires of the organization tugging him this way and that and wants out, but apparently there IS no out, and whether he makes out alive or not...is for you to find out when you watch the film! Honestly, this one blew me away, because it was like a low-budget Italian version of "The Bourne Identity," but without all the speed running and the amnesia business, and it had solid, dramatic performances from the entire cast. Don't miss this one either, as its gaining steam on the channel, but is age-restricted due to some nudity during the sex scenes.

Uploaded TODAY is the controversial love story with a criminal twist, "Honky," from all the way back in 1971! The cute as a button Brenda Sykes stars as the only good-looking black girl at Calvin Coolidge High School, and she falls for an ordinary blond-haired, blue-eyed white boy. While this sounds like the basis for a basic interracial romance film, things take a turn for the worse when the boy's parents don't approve of Brenda, and neither does the community, and the boy realizes he's in WAY over his head when Brenda asks him to help her sell a kilo of marijuana so they can have "a future together." He should've said, "No thanks, I've seen that movie!", but he doesn't, and that leads the movie to its gripping climax. Advertised on its poster as a "love story of hate," this film deals heavily with prejudice and race relations in the early 70's, and shows how far we've come (or perhaps not, if you look at the state of the world today) since then. It's a great study piece and is backed by a powerful score composed by none other than Quincy Jones. If you like rare blaxploitation with a side dish of romance, you can't go wrong with "Honky!"
And now, ladies and germs, it's the moment you've all been waiting for! It's the latest BANNED FROM THE CHANNEL MOVIE DOWNLOAD!

For this month & until the end of August, I present to you "$2,000 For Coyote," which I mistakenly uploaded as "Django, A Bullet For You," since that's what it was named on the site I downloaded it from. This movie is a very early spaghetti western and features some gorgeous shots of Spain's frontiers, and stars James Philbrook as a gunslinger who is hunting some Mexican bandits who just robbed a bank and got away with a buttload of cash. To make matters worse, his love interest (played by smart-as-a-whip Nuria Torray) has a little brother who has fallen in with the bandits, so patching things up with her is going to be just a little harder when the kid's getting in the way and calling him dirty names. This movie was on the channel for a year and a half, and was one of my first uploads, but much like "Probability Zero," it was lifted from my channel and moved to another one, presumably one that had licensed the streaming rights to it, and they didn't even bother changing the description or cleaning out the comments. This file is an old-school .AVI, but comes with both English and Spanish lingo options; sadly, the Spanish one has no English subs, with this being an .AVI and all. You can find the download link below, straight from my Google Drive, and be sure to grab it while you can, because next month there'll be a whole new one in this slot, and this one will be gone for good!
As for new movies coming to the channel, take a look at the posters below and sound off in the comments with your opinions on them; I'm sure they're bound to make somebody's day!
Until next time, everyone, stay safe, stay healthy, and enjoy the movies!
